How it works

Lip flips use a small amount of neurotoxin to gently relax the upper lip muscle, allowing the lip to turn upward for a subtle, natural lift. Lip filler uses hyaluronic acid–based dermal fillers to add volume, enhance shape and definition, and improve hydration. Lip treatments are fully customizable ranging from very natural results that softly restore volume and hydration to more noticeable plumping depending on your goals.

  • What to expect with a Lip Flip?

    A lip flip is a quick treatment using a small amount of neurotoxin (Botox/Dysport) to relax the upper lip muscle. You may feel tiny pinches at the injection points, but the treatment is very well tolerated and takes only a few minutes. Results appear gradually, and there is little to no downtime.

     

    What to expect with Lip Filler?

    Lip filler appointments take about 45-60 minutes which includes a consultation and numbing. The actual injection takes around 10 minutes. Expect swelling and tenderness, especially for the first 24–72 hours. Patients will be sent home with an ice pack and topical Lipsmart to hydrate the lips during the recovery period!

  • When does a lip flip start working?

    • You may begin noticing results around day 2–5. Full results appear at around 14 days after injection.

    How long does a lip flip last?

    • A lip flip typically lasts 6–8 weeks because the area moves frequently and only a small amount of neurotoxin can be used to maintain natural mouth movement.

    When will I see results from lip filler?

    • Lip filler results are immediate, but swelling may make the lips appear fuller at first

    What is the recovery process like for lip filler?

    • Expect swelling, tenderness, and possible bruising after lip filler. Most swelling improves 24–72 hours after injection. The filler can take up to 4–6 weeks to fully integrate. 

    How long does lip filler last?

    • Lip filler typically lasts 6–18 months depending on the product used, how much filler is used, and individual factors like metabolism.

  • What to do before a lip flip:

    • Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications before your appointment (unless prescribed).

    • Reschedule if you have active cold sores or infections.

    • Eat a light snack and hydrate before your appointment.

    What to do before lip filler:

    • Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications/supplements at least 48 hours prior (unless prescribed).

    • Hydrate well for 24–48 hours and eat a light snack before your appointment.

    • Arrive with clean, makeup-free lips.

    • Reschedule if you have a cold sore, active breakout, or lip irritation. If prone to cold sores, consider asking your provider about antiviral medication.

    • Do not schedule treatment too close to major events. Allow at 2 weeks for healing (ideally 4 weeks).

    Always consult your primary care provider regarding medications, recent illness, and medical conditions before receiving any aesthetic treatment. Treatment is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

  • What to do after a lip flip:

    • Stay upright for 4 hours after your appointment.

    • Expect small bumps or mild redness that fade within minutes to an hour.

    • Avoid rubbing, pressing, or massaging the upper lip.

    • Avoid intense exercise, heat, and saunas for at least 24 hours.

    • Return for a follow-up 2–3 weeks after your initial appointment if needed.

    What to do after lip filler:

    • Avoid strenuous exercise, heat, and saunas for 24–48 hours.

    • Do not rub, press, or massage treated areas. Lumps or bumps can be normal, do not massage!

    • Avoid drinking through a straw, smoking, or kissing for 24 hours.

    • Keep lips moisturized with provided lipsmart or a gentle balm. Apply the provided cold compress gently for short intervals if needed with the provided ice pack.

    • HYDRATE! Drinking water & staying hydrated = better filler results!

    • Most swelling settles within 1–2 weeks, but full integration of filler can take up to 6 weeks.
